1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and ORBIXYLABS LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17177342), whose registered office is Office 1160, 60 Tottenham Court Road, London, W1T 2EW (“we”, “us”), for using the Solvy app and website. By using Solvy you agree to them. Our Privacy policy explains how we handle your data.

2. Who can use Solvy

You must be at least 13 years old. [Confirm your minimum age.] If you’re under 18, please make sure a parent or guardian is happy for you to use Solvy, particularly before buying a subscription.

3. Your account

Solvy creates an account for you automatically so your History works, even if you don’t sign in. If you delete the app before signing in, we may not be able to recover your History. If you sign in, keep access to your Apple, Google or email account secure; you’re responsible for activity on your account.

4. Free use and Solvy Pro

The calculator is free and unlimited. Solving and explaining problems is free up to a daily limit shown in the app, which may change. Problems Solvy can’t solve don’t count towards it.

When available, Solvy Pro is a subscription sold through the App Store or Google Play. The price, length and any free trial are shown before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel in your App Store or Google Play settings, at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Payments and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their terms. This doesn’t affect your statutory rights.

5. Using Solvy to learn

Solvy is designed to help you understand maths. You’re responsible for following the rules of your school, college, university or exam board. Don’t use Solvy in exams or assessments unless you’re allowed to, and don’t hand in Solvy’s work as your own where that isn’t permitted.

6. Accuracy

We work hard to make answers correct: they come from a maths engine, and steps with a green tick are checked. But Solvy can still make mistakes, misread a photo or misunderstand a question. Check important results yourself, and don’t rely on Solvy for professional, financial, engineering, medical or safety-critical calculations. If you spot a mistake, please use “Report this problem”.

7. Your content

You own the problems, photos and messages you put into Solvy. You give us permission to store and process them to provide and improve Solvy, including sending them to our service providers as described in our Privacy policy. Please don’t include other people’s personal information.

8. Things you must not do

• Break the law, or use Solvy to harass or harm anyone.
• Try to get around the free limit, for example with automated tools or by creating many accounts.
• Copy, resell or reverse-engineer Solvy, or scrape it with bots.
• Upload anything harmful, such as malware, or try to access other people’s data.

9. Our content

Solvy, including its design, text, code and name, belongs to us or our licensors. You may use the explanations Solvy gives you for your own learning. Apart from that, you may not copy or reuse Solvy without our permission.

10. Changes and availability

We may update Solvy, add or remove features, or change the free limit. We try to keep Solvy available but can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, for example during maintenance or if a provider is down.

11. Ending your use

You can stop using Solvy and delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel a subscription, so cancel that with Apple or Google first. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms, and will explain why where we can.

12. Our responsibility to you

If you’re a consumer, you have legal rights that these terms don’t affect. We’re responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We aren’t responsible for losses that weren’t foreseeable, for business losses, or for results you rely on without checking. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts where you live.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is important, we’ll tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you don’t agree, you can stop using Solvy and delete your account.
