The short version

  • We collect only what Solvy needs to work: the problems you solve, your settings, and an account ID.
  • No adverts. We never sell your data or use it to track you across other apps or websites.
  • When Solvy explains a problem, the problem’s text is sent to our AI provider, DeepSeek, which processes it in China. We never send your name, email or account ID with it.
  • You can delete your account and everything in it at any time: Settings → Delete account.

International transfers

Some providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States and, for DeepSeek, in China. Where this happens we use safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement. [Confirm the safeguard in place for each provider.] To reduce the risk, we only send the text of the problem to DeepSeek, never information that identifies you.

Children and young people

Solvy is for people aged 13 and over. [Confirm your minimum age.] Because many of our users are students under 18, we follow the ICO’s Age Appropriate Design Code: privacy-protective settings by default, no adverts, no profiling for marketing, no location tracking, and only the data needed to provide the service. If you believe a child under 13 is using Solvy, please contact us and we’ll delete their data.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We’d appreciate the chance to help first.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access to your records is restricted to your own account by database security rules, and our secret keys never ship in the app. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you and the ICO if a breach affects you where the law requires.

Changes to this policy

If we make important changes, we’ll tell you in the app before they take effect. The date at the top shows when this policy last changed.
